I purchased two of these adjustable deer cages and have used them now for a few weeks. My home is on an old “deer road” so we have two families of deer coming by every day, a few times a day. I bought and panted two lilac trees last spring hoping that the deer will leave them alone because they are fragrant. They almost got destroyed. I debated buying the cages because they are pricey, but I’m glad I did, bought two of them and extra clips. I needed help to put the cages in place, hammer down the stakes, and then close them. But they are very sturdy, secure, and tall enough. It made me so happy to see new growth on the lilacs already, they are coming back. Very happy with this product.
We lost three recently planted trees, a redbud, a maple and a dogwood, to buck rub. The deer also stripped every leaf off multiple shrubs. In an effort to protect native azaleas and rhododendrons from rub and foraging we purchased Deer Cages. They were easy to install and blend quite well with the landscape. Should we be bold enough to plant more saplings, we will definitely protect them with Deer Cages.
I combined two cages to enclose a spreading spicebush. Easy to put together and an effective deterrent.
Got 2. Was easy to install and seems like it working. Blends in was it not an eye sore. Seems pricey for what it is.
They were easy to assemble. Lots of deer yet to test them. Like the green color
